Xavia is the creative mind, artist, owner, maker, designer behind Discerpo. Necto. Decrepitus. Discerpo. Necto. Decrepitus. in Latin, loosely translated means to sever or cut and bind the decrepit. In her own words:
“I enjoy the concept of decay. I generally enjoy working with old materials… Unless a material really speaks to me, or I can’t find something old that fits with my vision of the piece. I do my best to antique it by dying, painting or distressing the edges… So that the finished piece has a very specific look.”
“I would like to achieve a look that that not only reflects me as the designer but also speaks to my customer. I want my work to look like old moth eaten, rained on rusted costumes that have been hidden in the dressing room of an an old abandoned theater. Pieces that feel rich, exotic and full of history, but at the same time are comfortable well constructed, and can be dressed up or down and worn anywhere.”
“I hope to reflect the beauty that can be found in the constant decay and destruction of our environments. I don’t feel I have completely achieved this in any piece yet but stay tuned, for I am working very hard on refining this vision into artistic and creative pieces of clothing…”
Please come see this exquisite designer at Odin’s 4th annual Winter Solstice!
The Legendary Hitchhikers, Denver’s tribute to Tom Petty and his many influences will be rounding out the night at Odin’s 4th annual Winter Solstice this Saturday. This is the first time a cover band will play one of Odin’s events, and the Hitchhikers certainly deliver in this department! Apart from a whole bunch of TP, you’ll also hear The Stones, The Doors, The Cars, The Beatles (via the Meters), John Mayer, The Decemberists, Steely Dan, ZZ Top, Joe Cocker, Dire Straits and more.
The Hitchhikers have played Keystone, sold out the venerable Nissi’s in Lafayette, and often mix it up at their stomping grounds, the DNote in Arvada. The group includes: Norris (drums), Troy (bass), Don (keys, harmonica and miscellaneous), Doug and Dave (guitars), and Marc (vocals). You’ll be dancing hard by the end of the night – please come on out!
Karrieanne and Echo are two artist that enjoy working together to create pieces of art, some that can be worn. Their funky style absolutely comes through in their work. They will be featuring amazingly cozy scarves, warm gloves, naughty pins, and some fine art.

Are you ready for 120 proof whiskey rock? The Wendy Clark Band, a new Denver-based original rock band that has evolved from Tequila Mockingbird, kicks off Odin’s Winter Solstice at 8PM this Saturday. Active on the Front Range music circuit and indie scene since 1996, Wendy is a singer, composer, rhythm guitarist, bandleader, independent-recording artist, manager, and promoter
Her music is classified under roots-rock but adds an unmistakable, playful voice and infectious melody combined with modern philosophic meanderings – “been there, hated that” themes mixed with a twinge of nostalgia, lyrically-guided and guitar-driven, thoughtful, catchy, powerful, and kept fresh by delving into multiple genres, and WCB promises to knock the walls down with new technique and creative freedom. Whew! That’s a mouthful…but this girl rocks!
With a new single and video in production, the Wendy Clark Band is working on a new full-length album and will feature guests and regular members of the band with Rhett Haney on bass and vocals, Jim Ruberto on bass, guitars, and sound; Oscar Pop on percussion and vocals, and rotating lead guitarists including Ryan Chrys and Greg Gladman – renewing the energy and spontaneity of a selection of Tequila Mockingbird songs, and releasing a brand new full length CD in mid 2014.
Please come check her out!

Littleton-based artist (Artchik), Pamela Schmidt likes to try different mediums for her craft. She is mostly drawn to human and animal forms, with vivid colors. She makes drawings, paintings, and other general artwork, including leather masks and accessories (finger-less gloves, purses, suede wristbands), ornaments, and unique sculptures.
Pamela also has a heart for cats and uses her art to support the Cat Care Society, a nonprofit shelter in the Denver Metro area. For the past three years, Artchik has contributed painted statues in The Tails from the Painted Cats fundraiser which supports the CCS. Appropriately enough, she created Meowscarade in 2012. Please come see the unique pieces from this thoughtful local artist at Odin’s 4th annual Winter Solstice.
